Brian Patrick Cork first met Ascend System Technologies founder and CEO Steve Aninye while Aninye was the CEO at www.omnilinksystems.com.  Cork had been introduced to Omnilink by David Leach, the company's Chairman and a lead investor.  Cork helped build the company's leadership and sales team that was setting the stage for additional investment.

Cork then helped Aninye form Ascend System Technologies (www.ascendtechcorp.com) and clarify Aninye's original vision around technology solutions for enhancing the personal safety of the elderly and people with special needs, allowing them to live safely at home or in care facilities.

Cork continued to Coach Aninye and introduced Ascend to a wide-range of professionals, investors and thought leaders throughout the Atlanta business community.  This resulted in the development of a Quick FACT Sheet™ that established credibility based on market definition, product development, financial modeling and a clear path to a Return on Investment (ROI).

With a stable and emerging tactical plan and process based on clearly defined milestones and related objectives, Cork was able to introduce Ascend to a broad range of investors that included his access to Execs-with-Checks.  Ascend quickly came to terms with a local investor that was qualified to invest roughly $500,000 to underwrite the development of commercially viable products and then establish an early market that set the stage for sustained growth and a scalable Strategic Plan.

In June of 2009 Cork and his team then recruited Ascend's President and COO Greg Buchholz and organized a 2nd round of capital formation in the amount of $2.5 million from Atlanta-based private equity firm, Five Stands, that is currently enabling the company to hire additional Human Capital, conduct Market Research, establish a viable Sales process and implement Supply Chain Logistics. In June of 2010, Five Stands invested an additional $2 million into Ascend.
